Only permanent building in Antactica.
The claim that the Trinity Church is the only permanent building in Antactica is false.First, the Church is not on Antarctica, but on an island off the coast.
Second, many nations, Russia included, have permanent bases in Antactica, that are staffed year round. Scott Base, McMurdo Sound, Vostok, and the South Pole Station, to name a few.
The oldest permanent building in Antartica is Captain Scott's base which he built in 1912. It is not occupied, but is presently undergoing refurbishment by the New Zealand Government. It is established as a museum, containing artifacts, equipment, and stores used by the 1912 expedition members.

Re: Only permanent building in Antactica.
On King George Island. On a coastwise of Antarctica.I not speak about permanent bases, very many bases is in Antarctica, and Bellinsghausen is one of them. I'm about a permanent structure (капитальное здание), differ from mobile buildings which build at bases. This Church is typical for Russian tradition and you may see many analogous in
It's different?

Congrats for such a wonderful Curch in Antarctica
Dear Alexander,I was so happy to visit your web site and see the picture of the wonderful Trinity Church of which, first of all, I have to compliment the Architect Peter Anisiforov who did project it.
I have received some pictures of Trinity Church from our friend Oleg Sakharov, ham radio operator R1ANF and Comminication officer at Bellinghausen Base, Antarctica. The pictures are shown on the Antarctic Gallery at WAP (Worldwide Antarctic Program)web site, at http://www.ddxc.net/modules.php?name=cop
Description of Trinity Church is also written on the dedicated Church session on http://www.ddxc.net/wap/church.php.
Keep up the good work, and be proud to have done such a great example of worship in Antarctica.
Sincerely, Gianni Varetto I1HYW
